Uta West grew up in New York City. She received her B.A. from Brooklyn College, did graduate work at Columbia University, and taught at Denver University and the College of the Virgin Islands.
She is the author of:

I know very little about her but if I remember correctly, most of her family was died during World War II in the concentration camps.
I am not sure of the date she passed away but I believe it was in the late 1980's.
She is survived by a daughter.
